Born and raised in the South, Leigh brings warm hospitality to her role as assistant wedding coordinator. Formerly crunching numbers in banking and orchestrating non-profit events, she combines her organizational prowess with a passion for creating unforgettable moments to ensure you can relax and enjoy your big day. Off the clock, you can find her exploring local hiking trails, devouring a good book, or negotiating with her cat for a fair share of the keyboard space.

For AJ, it’s all about the visceral experience - the heavy-eyed emotion of the dance floor and the behind-the-scene shots that feel like a fever dream. Her world is built on matcha, literature, and the moody, cobblestone corridors of Savannah.

Marisa is a former teacher-turned-wedding coordinator. She uses her organizational and time management skills as well as eye for decor to help couples celebrate their big day! When she’s not at a venue, you can find her reading a thriller on the beach, tending to her houseplants, or spending time with her family.

If she isn't working you can find her curled up in bed watching Harry Potter on repeat or going on adventures with her dog, Wiley.

OUR STORY
Moonbeam Weddings & Events was founded by Savannah McGovern back in 2020. After working in the weddings & events industry for over 10 years, operating a multiple of different facets including; high-end banquet serving, photo/video planning, venue coordination & full service wedding planning, she decided to open her business with an aim to better serve a more diverse wedding clientele. She noticed that there was a severe lack of planners out in Southern California that related to a more unique, alternative version of the “traditional” wedding day. Geared towards better serving these couples, she and her husband, Matthew, launched 'Moonbeam’ & have gone from strength to strength.
‘Moonbeam’ grew quickly and it soon became necessary to recruit new assistants and coordinators. As ‘Moonbeam’ welcomes new talented and dedicated team members it enables us to help more couples get access to extraordinary coordination & planning services. We sincerely believe that every couple deserves to have the wedding day they always dreamed of.
Beginning 2022, Savannah & Matthew have worked hard to establish a 'Moonbeam' office on the East Coast. Based in Savannah, GA (Not to be confused with our very own founder, ‘Ms. Savannah McGovern’), we are so excited to serve our new east coast clients! Savannah’s iconic spanish moss and the spooky, haunted history of the region makes it perfect for any couple planning an alternative celebration!
