Best Wedding Venues in Savannah

Now, your girl here swings more alternative and moody, so these are going to be a bit biased. I do like venues like The Westin and other similar venues, but they aren’t really the ‘Moonbeam’ style so I tend not to work there as much. The venues listed below are all places I work at often and LOVE! IMHO, they are gorgeous, easy to communicate with, and have a great team on hand to help! Without further ado, and in no particular order, here are the best venues to get married at in Savannah, GA!

Soho South Wedding Reception in Savannah, GA

Soho South

This is the venue I work at the most and it’s so freaking cool! Formerly, an old mechanic’s garage, it’s look is incredibly versatile and can swing from a modern, classic look on one day to a darker, edgy look on another. It’s also perfect for weddings & events that want that tinge of vintage speakeasy feels. Now, the venue is a bit small and they do offer ceremonies on-site but because of the logistics of a room flip, I would only suggest this if you have a smaller guest count. If you have something a little meatier (75 and above) then I think it pairs excellently with a ceremony at the Forsyth Park Fountain (guests can trolley over, which is fun!) or Harper Fowlkes which is right down the street (literally two blocks!). Catering and bar services are provided in house and both are fabulous and delicious! None of that stuffy, bland food you get at a lot of weddings. Their options are great! And, can we also give a shout out to their catering team regarding feeding vendors? A lot of caterers will try to prevent the on-site vendor team (photo, video, planners/coordinators) from eating at the same time as the couple & wedding party, choosing to have us eat last. BUT, when that happens it’s chaos because what’s happening when everyone is done eating? Toasts, cake cutting, and dances - that’s what! Sorry, rant over but in all honestly, it’s great to work with a team that knows what it’s doing and knows what’s best for a wedding or event to run smoothly! It will really make that much of a difference for your special day!

Bride & Groom dancing at Victory North

Victory North

Wait - is this a concert venue or a wedding venue? The answer, of course, is both! Victory North is perfect if you want to add a bit of edgy, sophistication for your day! The two-story performance hall has the set-up for an epic wedding. Think about having your live band or DJ set-up on the stage with epic decor pieces surrounding them and everyone dining and boogie-ing down below. It’s pretty freaking rad! The venue’s second story is open to below so guests who dine upstairs can still see all the action below. If you have a large guest count (150 and up)then I would say this is the venue for you! Outside, sits a paved patio with pre-set lounges that make it perfect for a ceremony and cocktail hour. In case of rain, it’s large enough for a tent to be set-up comfortably. Additionally, they have an on-site bride and groom’s suite on the third floor. It’s open to you early in the morning and the team there will make preparations to have everything you need onsite! They even bring in your favorite beer/champagne for you to enjoy in the AM while you get ready. The venue staffs and takes care of all drink services and you are welcome to bring in your own caterer. They have a private kitchen set-up in the back which your caterer will LOVE.

Ceremony at Savannah Bottle Works

Savannah Bottle Works

Savannah’s newest venue, the Savannah Bottle Works was formerly - you guessed it - a drinks bottling building. The new owners have taken care to preserve the history of the building while also updating it with modern features. There are three main rooms - two stacked above each other in the main building that look like the picture above and another room across the deck that they call ‘the white hall.’ That one is obviously painted white but makes for great lighting and photos if you want a lighter look to your ceremony. But, if you’re like me - then bring on the aged brick and moody lighting! The three rooms are flexible so you can put the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in any of the halls and have it flow any which way you want! The venue includes wooden cross back chairs and farm tables so you don’t have to worry about linens, if you want to keep it scaled back. They also have metal piping running across the ceilings which makes it perfect for hanging floral installations!

Georgia State Railroad Museum

Right, let me start off by saying - I have yet to work at this venue (so I stole this photo from one of my fav photographers - Mackensey Alexander who’s linked on the photo) BUT my presence will be known as of this fall because I have quite a few lined up and this is my JAM! Are there old trains around - yes but it makes for epic photos! The old workshop and warehouses are spacious and you can really let your imagination run wild! The venue comes with farm house tables and benches which really add to the cold, historic look! And as with many of the venues listed here, you can use hanging florals or lighting installations to really add that wow factor. The ceremony site is outside these two large wooden doors which look really unique in wedding photos. Part of the Georgia Historical Society, this is a definite recommend!

Red Gate Farms

Now I know you are saying to me “Savannah, a farm venue?” Well, let me tell you something - this place is HUGE and gorgeous! There are actually two venues onsite the Barn and the Grainery. Both come with a ceremony site on the ‘lake’ with a huge oak tree wrapped in Spanish moss overlooking. It’s large and fabulous for quirky weddings and events like a carnival or an ethereal, spooky gardens look! As well, both venues come with a bride and groom’s suite which is really helpful when putting together the final pieces of getting ready. Inside the Barn, you’ll see aged wood with fairy lights dotting the beams overhead. A courtyard sits adjacent to the venue where a fountain sits that will allow guests to feel as if there are at a local, backyard wedding. Inside the Grainery, metal roll-up doors and more string lighting decorate which brings a cool, edgy look to the reception. The venue also has horses on the property so if you want to roll up in a carriage or have a mini horse distribute beers during cocktail hour - that can be arranged and add a fun element to your special day!
